Model Bank 2009
Celent Model Bank 2009
Self-Nomination Form
Celent's Model Bank research is designed to try to answer an apparently simple question: "What would it look like for a bank to do everything right with today's technology?"
Of course, the question is not nearly as simple as it appears. The terms “everything” and “right” will mean very different things to different banks depending on their size, the complexity of their operations and product sets, and their technological starting points. The approach that Celent has therefore taken is to offer, at a high level, some key best practices in the use of technology that a “model bank” would use.
There is no such thing as a “Model Bank” — every bank does some things well, and others not as well when it comes to technology. Therefore, Celent is gathering as many real world examples of effective usage of technology as possible. These case studies are presented annually as “Model Bank Components” — components of a theoretical model bank’s IT systems and practices.
An important note is that a model bank component is a recognition of a bank’s effective use of technology in a certain area, not necessarily a statement that the bank is absolutely best in class (although some may be). Model bank components are those that help banks improve performance and meet market demands. In general, they represent the way things should be done.
To nominate an initiative at your company as a model bank component, please use the following form. Please note that vendors are welcome to assist their banking clients with their nominations. However, all nominations must include bank contact information, and all follow-up will be done primarily with the bank, not the vendor.
